Fort Valley - Talmadge Lee Wells, 86, died Monday, August 13, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 17, 2012, in Oaklawn Cemetery, 720 S. Camellia Boulevard in Fort Valley, with Dr. John E. Stumbo officiating. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church Street in Fort Valley. Family may be contacted at 1509 Knoxville Street in Fort Valley. Born in Fort Valley to the late Johnny David Wells and Maggie Whittington Wells, Mr. Wells was retired from Woolfolk Chemical Company, served in the Marines during World War II, and was a lifelong member of Fort Valley United Methodist Church and the Upper Room Sunday School Class. He never met a stranger, loved life and his family, and will be greatly missed by his family. Survivors include his children, Johnny and Debra Wells of Fort Valley and Jamie and Wayne Arrington of Byron; grandchildren, Kathy and Brad Cantrell of Centerville, Lori and Byron Smith of Bogart, Jason and Samantha Wells of Fort Valley, Ashleigh Arrington, Wesley Arrington and Lindsey Arrington, all of Byron, and seven greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Slappey Wells, and a sister, Corine Dixon. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
